Good morning Bay Area
I know this one comes a little late in the day and is pretty rough....but it's because I actually left the studio I was at in beautiful San Francisco to move to a different location.
This is a memory sketch of the city in the morning, when the light comes through the fog and hits the bay .
I love this city.

Cafe Sale
I am working on a new book with Cafe Sale right now..and I am including some very old images.
I found a bunch that were really fun...like this one from a few years back.
It's interesting to see that , at the time, I was using ONLY flash...no photoshop.
Because of that, I was paying more attention to colors and their vibrancy from the get go rather than what I do now which is refining them later, in photoshop.
I am not saying that the images then were better than now, but that they have changed quite a bit over time. I think that technically, I could do this again, but I am not sure I'd have the mind set for it right now.
I feel that as an artist, we have to let ourselves evolve and not be afraid of letting go of the things we know in order to discover and learn new ones.

Alice aux pays des Singes
My friend Nicolas Keramidas asked me a little while ago to do a piece based on his new and fantastic graphic novel, Alice in the land of Monkeys.
It is the first sketch I ten days and I feel very rusty. I'll probably have to do a new one.
Anyhow... HI everybody.
WOndercon was fantastic. Thank you to everybody that came by.

What Do Ducks Eat and WONDERCON 2012
Hello everyone! Off to Wondercon 2012 in Anaheim in the rain. Good thing I'll be driving down with Erin Leong, who will be doing her first showing at Wondercon. Do not miss her! As for me, I'll be in the Small Press Area Table #SP55. I worked really hard this year to bring lots of unique originals from the last 4 years, as well as recent favorites. Looking forward to seeing you there!

Morning Ride...from a few years ago
Yesterday's image made me think of this one I did a few years ago....which looked better in my memory of it.
At the time, this image was , to me, the best I had ever done in that vein. It feels dated , clumsy and not especially well thought out.
I am posting it here today because I think it's interesting to see the evolution from just a few years ago.
The more you practice your art, the better you get at it, and no matter how old you are, you can always grow.
It's nice to be reminded sometimes
