10 years later

....Ok.. so.. I was listening to some old french songs on Youtube and came across one that came out while I was in High School, called, Place des Grands hommes( it means, the great men's square, roughly, and, in teh song, it's the place where a bunch of highschool or college friends meet up ten years later..... I use to love that song as a kid...even if it's really cheesy.
That's the inspiration for this one.

Today is a big sketchbook sketches post!
I actually did most of these last nigh, but did a few the night before.
It's kind of sketches of the day..even if they are not in color.

In the second half ..it's the same stuff, just with some light and shadow ...not always really successful, and THAT I did this morning!

A shout out and two friendly pieces

This post is a little different than usual.
I want to send a shout out to a person that has been a GREAT inspiration to me for the past two years or so.
He's a young artist that just won a scholarship and a shot at the Reuben awards, and he's not 21 yet.
His name is Chris Houghton and I think you guys should all check out his site.

Since I've met him I have seen nothing but incredible passion, determination, incredibly strong work ethic, and, above all, he is one of those rare NICE guys.
He and his girlfriend, Kassandra Heller are very big inspirations for me in my everyday work.
Just wanted to say that.


The other two pieces are for some friends of ours, Tia and Carlo Grasso and their family.
AN amazing family all together.

A very bad call

A few days ago, I got into a little accident with my bike and a car...nothing bad, and no one got hurt. But it did shake me up a bit for the day...and I did this image while thinking about that state of mind I was in. I actually did this image the day it happened, but am only getting to send it now.
