Down the river

Little funny fact about this one... We actually did this as kids, on the Tarn river in France, and, rationally, it was NOT a fun experience.. I remember being cold, wet and tired and we tipped over quite a few times.. that said.. now, with the hindsight, it was a wonderful time and I am so glad I did it. Funny how that works, hu?

I wanted to try something different here. I did the background completely differently than I usually do, then I ran out of time to paint the witch the same way.. but I like what came out. It's fun!

A few weeks ago I posted some unfinished sketches, and tests that I wasn't too keen on. This is another one.. I do like it but it was just a test for something That I didn't succeed in doing. That said.. I learned something else that I wasn't looking for when I did it..so it is a success ! funny how that works!

The Birds.

While I am doing prints, I am going through mt old files and finding a lot( a LOT) of sketches I never finished. Sometimes it's just characters, sometimes it's a bunch of characters, or scenes that I started and that, for one reason or another, I didn't finish, probably because I couldn't figure out how to tell the story. Looking at them with hindsight...I can actually remember for most of them WHEN I did them, what I was thinking at that time, my state of my mind, etc etc.. it's interesting because NOW they are telling a story for me. This is one of them.. I might post a few more if you guys want. I like this one though.

The coolest gig

I don't usually share my work here, but for this one, I am making an exception because I am geeking out a little( a lot)about it. A few months ago, I was approached by Marvel comics to do a cover for their Wolverine Variant covers. I guess what they do is they approach different artist who not from Marvel and ask them to do their take on a character. They gave me the choice between Iron Man and Wolverine, and, of course, I chose Logan. I grew up reading Marvel comics and even wanted to be a Marvel artist at one point. So, when I received the offer, I felt like a kid at Christmas. I also was pretty scared...more than for other jobs since I know I don't necessarily draw the "Marvel" way..but, boy ho boy..was that a fun gig. Here is the cover.it'll be out later this year, but since it was already posted online here http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/JoshWildingNewsAndReviews/news/?a=75738 I figured it would be ok to share it with you as well. That's all. CHeers, and, thank you George, at Marvel for making one of my childhood dreams come true.
