This is something that happens to me A LOT.

I'm out doing something, anything and an idea will hit me....and I'll get ALL excited about it.

I'll be thinking of it and giggle to myself( Yes, I do that.) and when I get a chance to draw it, I realize there are holes in the idea and it was funny or interesting only in my head. ( Hence.. going back to the nurturing of Idea birds from a while ago).

Ok...that one.. that could be just me.

I just spent a good hour BEFORE this drawing out something that turned out to not work.( Although I got some fun drawings out of them..so.. all is not lost!)

For Funston is this area near San Francisco where we would go on weekends. It's always kind of foggy down by the water and dogs would run freely around that whole beach.

Hard Lessons.
As a parent, we should be the ones teaching our kids, but sometimes I feel like I am a kid and they are my teachers.

I love being a dad, but sometimes I just get grumpy, tired, irritated...I try to control it but I don't always do a good job.
Things like this happen. I am not proud of myself in these moments but I don't also want to pretend like they don't exist.
I feel this is the type of stuff I'll forget has ever happened when MY kids have THEIR kids and I inevitably tell them how much
better of a job I did raising them.
Lastly... honey? I'm so sorry.

I’m usually pretty good with images and sometimes with words but in cases like this it’s really hard to put in a coherent form what I’m feeling. It’s crazy because without ALL of you guys showing appreciation for my work it would never have gotten anywhere so thank you . Thank you so so much for to all of you. Especially to Peter de Sève and of course Francoise Mouly at the director. Thank you to my wife for all the superhuman support. It’s just so surreal!
