Blue Tuesday

Couldn't figure out a better name for it..

An interesting thing, technically, with this one. I did it almost all in flash.
I came to a point where Flash kept crashing on me( I counted 17 times on Sunday) because, I'm assuming, I had too many points. Especially on the Octopus part, which is why it's a lot barer than the rest.
I guess there are some limits to what flash can do.
I had to finish it up in photoshop, and that means, adding the light rays in the middle part. Not that I couldn't do that in flash on a regular drawing, but here, it just wouldn't take it anymore!

The Hustler

Have you guys seen this movie with Paul Newman and Jackie Gleason?
We saw this movie a few nights ago, and I was just awe struck by everything in it. The story, the picture, Paul Newman's performance, and most of all, the intense atmosphere that comes out of every single shot of the movie.
A GREAT movie to watch!

These little tests are super fun to do! This one may not be as easy to get, but I had fun giving this little guy some sort of atitude!
The more I play around with that idea, the funner it is.
When I get a chance, I'll try to make a few of these that are a little longer, and more"constructed".

Feels like a Wednesday morning

(^_^) I was walking on the beach last evening, and it was beautiful. So many people out there despite the fact that the water is cold in San Francisco, but there were surfers, and families doing sand castles on the beach. I even saw some students do their homeworks facing the ocean.
It was BEAUTIFUL.
I know this image looks nothing like the Bay, but I got inspired by that!

It happened in the basement

This one grew very organically. I started out just doing the character on the left, cooking the tentacle like creature, and, poof, before I knew it, i had a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG drawing...all in yellows.

Ok..for this one I really forced myself to use the color green. If you look through most of my drawings, you'll find very little "green" drawings, or just the color green. I've always find it difficult to work with for some reason, so I decided to not let that get in the way anymore and tackle that issue head on!
I'm only OK with this image, but I learned a lot about green..isn't that funny?

My little garden

That was an easy one, I must say. It really flowed out of me, and I didn't think too much about it. If you look closely , you'll see a ton of little detail in the flowers. That's just because it is pretty relaxing to draw them.
Anyhow, we just saw 3 10 to Yuma yesterday. I had so so expectations for the movie, but was blown away by it.
It's brilliantly shot, the images are BEAUTIFUL, and the Christian Bale/ Russel Crowe duo is amazing. You really believe them.
The rest of the cast is also very very strong. Especially Russel Crowe's Captain, and that young kid really pulls his weight,which would be especially hard in scenes with two guys like Crowe and Bale.
I do like westerns in general, so I might be biased, but this was such a great, intense , gripping movie.
Even now that I know how it ends,I'll go back and see it.
