Slow start today

I'm not sure why, but i am still sleepy today.
The electricity went off during the night, so when i opened my eyes and looked at the clock, it was still midnight... even if the sun was starting to get out. against my better judgment, I got up...ho boy.. why do we do these things sometimes? I wonder

Actually, this one was done for Drawer geeks , on the theme of Rabbits. Nothing to do with Santa. But I was drawing a blank at the moment, and this happened. It's actually funny if you think that the initial idea were the rabbits!

I was trying something a little different this time. It's still all flash except for the fringes around that were done in Photoshop.
I also played with the color a little more than usual, and this,actually, took me a lot longer than most other drawings

One of my friends from France, whom I had not seen in 17 years came by for a visit this weekend. It was an express visit, but, wow, what a blast. 17 years! Insane

HA.. the weekend. It's usually a relaxing moment. I think this one will not be relaxing. It will be fun, busy, filled with work friends and family, and , I'm guessing, little sleep.

Wednesday express

Mid weeks can be tough sometimes!

and..before anybody asks.
This one took me more then ten minutes!
I did it yesterday actually, in between calls with clients. I work in that type of industry where you rush rush rush like mad to get something to the clients in time, then you wait wait wait for their feedback. This was done while on the phone and in between feedbacks.
It actually goes much faster than one would think. These are super basic shapes, and it's really just pencil on paper.

As far as daily life.
Still really busy. I know these sketches tend to make you think the opposite, but, when you're going as fast as you can on one project, you don't want to cool off while waiting for the feedback, especially when there are more than one projects going on at the same time.
And, actually, I will soon be entering the "finishing" phase which resembles a marathon of drawing drawing drawing. SO... there'll probably be less sketches then!

Tuesday tuesday

It's nice and cozy in my office right now. Kind of misty and cold outside, and our dog is snoring right here, in front of me on the carpet. Just got a cup of coffee and a bagel, and I'm posting up a new drawing. Moments like these feel really good!

Back in to the rush of things

Well, you may have noticed by the quality of my sketches recently, but I'm back into the rush of things with work. I haven't been able to focus on great sketches lately, but I've been exploring stuff. With all this new work coming in I'm exploring different ways of working( not just for the hell of it, but because the jobs make me do so). This explains why I'm not doing the same type of sketches I've been doing previously.
Not that I won't anymore, but, something is changing in my way of doing them.

Usually what happens, is when a job like this is over, it takes me a few weeks and it clicks, it gets incorporated in my everyday way of doing things. I'm wondering how all of this is going to turn out.

SO.. for the next couple of weeks, and, actually all the way up to mid July , I should be in this funky state. It's cool and weird at the same time, and I think the lenght of this post is a good sign of it!


In any case, here's the super quick sketch of the day, and a few women that I drew and turned into super heroes.( They were actually fashion models that I used as reference and dressed them up like these super girls.)

I just saw Knocked up this weekend. FINALLY! A great movie!! Pheww. I was starting to get worried.
Great great observations of both sexes, and how we perceive each other!
Good for anybody who is in a relationship, whether you are going to have kids or not, or even if you already have some!

Cinderella

Drawer Geek's theme this week is Cinderella.
I am, once again, busy busy, so I wanted to do something much quicker than usual. I ended up painting these in flash. I know it doesn't look much different than the other stuff I post, but the process was totally different. I "painted" very large shapes with the thickest brush in Flash, an just added colors, and refining a bit. It went three times faster than usual,which is why I also did some of the other drawer geek's themes , like wolvie and Indiana Jones...

Anyhow.

Fall

I love fall, it's a magical season!

I'm going through a phase of " research" right now. Ever since I've gotten back from Italy, I've been doing a bunch of different experiments. Some alright, some I wouldn't want to share.
This one is....hu...In between I think.



Other than that, It was a good weekend. Went to see Shrek Three but didn't care much for it, and, actually, to tell the truth, I've seen Spiderman Three, and Pirates three, and, NONE of these held my interest.
What the heck? Is it just me or are movies just not that interesting right now?
