opening
the next drawing in the series.
On a different note.
I was going to make a post about comicon, but it seems everybody's done this as well.
I'm pretty sure you guys don't want to hear me out about how cool it was, how impressive the flight guys were, and how THOSE guys made me laugh really hard.
Not too mention the 6'2 booth babe, leather clad, fleshy and somewhat dangerous looking that kept walking back and forth across from our both, distributing comics that I just can't recall right now.
No, I'm sure no one needs to read or hear about this.
right?
What DID happen since then though, is a generous amount of call backs from people I've met over there, and from people I haven't had a chance to meet.
Nice call backs I must say.
...if that was all..
Last thursday, I had an unexpected and unpleasant surprise when I was bluntly told at work that all the video games projects I was working on got cancellled.
tobe more exact, the whole platform I was helping develop got cancelled, which pretty much leaves me employed but jobless if that makes any sense.
In a way, I'mnot sure wether this is a blessing a disguise, or a really sucky thing.
In one way, i did put a lot of myself into these games( especially the dragon one!(^__^), and now there all gone, and I've not much to show for it.
On another end, I should have more time now to focus on my own work without the same stress level I've been living with for the past few months.
I just think it is so interesting how life unfolds itself.... all at the same time.
It's very peculiar to me.
no?

city sketch
A quick one.
I think untill the end of this month , i'm going to swamped with work.
For those who are interested.
I'm working on a bunch of video games right now.
I use to do a lot of the actual concept art, backgrounds, characters, stroryboards, animations, etc etc.., but, lately, because of the amount of games, I've been mostly overseeing other great artist's work.
It's an interesting position.
It's a little gratifying because i'm (in theory) ahead of the game, and a little frustrating because I don't get to do any art at all.
hmmm...
's just for a while though....I keep telling myself this..
just for a bit...
so.. here's a BART sketch( the BART is the public transportation system we have here, in San Francisco)
It takes me from the Embarcadero to the east bay, where I work.

The shipment
I was sitting down, trying to figure out what I was going to dofor a sketch, when I saw on the wall, that beautiful drawing that Sam( Hood) had done for one of the projects he's working on.
It's a depiction of a city, from a three quarter top view, but down in a "kid's map" like style, a little like Richard Scarry's books.
There's something about that drawing that just keeps pulling me back over and over, and makes me want to draw cities!
So, Sam, this one is mainly because of you!

being pulled in all directions at the same time.
it made me think of a little idea ..and It ha been a long time since my "boss" animations had come up.
...a litl rusted maybe but... here's a short one.

Taj
a break was needed.
Too much work and not enough play, was starting to make pascal a dull guy.
I thought I'd bring out my little piggy friends and their flying car.
It's been a while, and i really liked them.
Who knows.. maybe they'll be the basis for a second book?
meanwhile..
what's going on in my life?
hmm...
still in San Francisco, still loving it.
Job's ok.. a little too busy( lol...i Love my understatements!oh geez!)
Freelance is great, and slowing down
I'm getting ready for comicon where I hope to see A bunch of friends, and get to meet some of these "idols" of mine.
And..
well..the wedding plans are just streaming along.....
hmmm...it's a good feeling right now
and. for the side note, I'm listening to the blues brother's "WHISH SANDWICH".
funny song.
Ok.. Enough..I'm rambling.
Bed time.
g'dnight!

good bye monsieur Roba
When I was a kid, I used to read this comic strip called BOULE et BILL, about a little cocker and the kid that owned it.
In that strip, a lot of time, the paintings on the walls would feature little birds that would react to the situation in the panels.
Obviously, This had a great influence on me later on.
The author, named Roba, just passed away a few weeks ago, but I just learned about it today.
So..
